It’s already the end of the year and 2018 took a little longer to end. This is also the time of year everything is hectic for everyone with holidays, work and just life in general. We want to wish all of you a Happy Holidays for the many we celebrate this month. Continue reading
The past few years a lot of conventions we’ve been to have been very inclusive when it came to LGBT representation. HIDIVE hosted this panel, one of many on Friday night at Anime NYC. If you’re unfamiliar with HIDIVE it’s a streaming service for anime and they have been sponsors at a few of the conventions I’ve been to this past year. You can catch Simulcasts, dubs and much more on HIDIVE there is a 7-day free trial if you’re interested in checking out the anime they stream. Continue reading
We’re right at the tip of the new year! 2019 is literally a little over a month away and the giving season is in full effect. November celebrates our 3rd year on WordPress, it seems like so long ago we started this blog. We’re many years into SDE but our online presence is 3 years strong and we can only go harder. Continue reading
On Sunday the last day of Anime NYC, I was able to catch the panel and get some insight from women in the professional gaming field. These ladies turned their love for gaming into a career, I’m extremely proud of them for being able to make a living off of a hobby they’re passionate about. You can work your day job while building your dream at the same time, just remember there are sacrifices to be made. I understood that because this is what I’m personally doing with SDE. Morning Musume is one of Japan’s biggest idol groups and they still are! Producer Tsunku started the group in 1997 and they are still making music and are as popular as they were when they first debut with more members.
Morning Musume has broken so many records on the Oricon charts. They continue to top their past successes and I’m looking forward to seeing Morning Musume, 18 in concert this weekend.

This weekend is Anime NYC 2018, the second year of Anime NYC and it’s going to be jammed packed with so many amazing guests. Many of the guests are from Japan and that’s what I really like about AnimeNYC, no other convention has a guest list full of the very people who worked on the original projects for the shows we love. Continue reading
Crunchyroll has used their industry connections to the fullest. Anime NYC is only in its second year and its list of guests is stacked. As a person who is fascinated with sound, this is something that has caught my interest. There an even a point in my life where I wanted to pursue voice over as a career. These folks have my utmost love and respect.
This list was pretty long so I divided it into two. Welcome to part one.
This is probably the 1000th post about this topic that has appeared on the internet. I have big issues with what Pixar, a branch of Disney has done with Tiana, our favorite and only Black Princess. Colorism and whitewashing is always a controversial topic because so many people feel offended on both sides. Colorism in itself is a conversation a lot of people are not ready to have because they don’t want to face the reality and the history that makes up our media and society today.
Let’s talk about it.
Last weekend was NYCC and AFNYCC (Anime Fest), So that’s 2 cons in one weekend and Alice was the braveheart to go to both from Thursday – Sunday. New York Comic Con wanted to bring back Anime Fest and they did. Lizzo and I only did 1 day at NYCC, we didn’t want to go for an extra day because we both felt like NYCC was becoming too commercial. We usually don’t always agree but that was one that we did and all three of us might not go to NYCC next year because it’s too expensive to buy single passes!
Alice has a few posts about NYCC and AFNYCC coming out this week, it felt like we took a week off last week but work and other things caught up with us because we’ve been putting in so much work with SDE other parts of our lives were getting jealous lol. We enjoy going to conventions to see and meet new people as well as hang with friends but NYCC will most likely not be on our list of cons next year because we do miss the weekend bundle pass and it’s much cheaper to hit the other cons that are just as fun.
Our next convention will be Anime NYC and we’ll be doing press coverage there and we’re super excited about it. Hopefully, Anime NYC fixed their security issues from last year but regardless I will be carrying a smaller camera bag just in case they haven’t. If you don’t remember last years’ Anime NYC or didn’t get the chance to go here’s last year’s Anime NYC Overview.
This is week 13 of our Spotify Playlist and as usual, we hope to be your music plug and introduce you to new artists and new favorite songs.
